We offer two different types of nurse call system, a wired and a wireless system. Installing on behalf of Static Systems PLC, our team of engineers will ensure the installation is carried out to the agreed specification and set of drawings.

We have installed and commissioned systems on the following systems:

  • Conventional
  • Codem II
  • Codemlon
  • Platform Independent (PI)
  • Ultima
  • Aspire Wireless

We understand the importance of a system operating correctly to ensure patients are able to call healthcare staff when needed and in the event of emergencies therefore this is of the highest importance to us when installing, commissioning and testing.

There are many different options to consider when choosing your nurse call package however Static Systems will be on hand to talk you through everything and help you design the best system to suit your requirements. Below, we run through some of the terms that will be used when going through and designing your package:

Nurse Call equipment:

  • Bedhead Trunking - These will be installed behind a patients bed. They will house things such as medical gases, plug sockets, data points as well as our nurse call plates for the function of calling a nurse when required or to use the emergency buzzers in emergency situations
  • Pull Cords - These are most likely to be installed in bathroom / toilet areas. The function of a pull cord is for the patient to pull should they require assistance while using the facilities maybe in the event of having a fall. This will then send an alert to the nurse base and to lamp tones around the ward to alert all staff that assistance is needed
  • Lamp Tones - These can be installed into walls or into ceiling tiles / solid ceilings. The function of a lamp tone is to alert staff that a call is going off somewhere on a ward. The bulb will light up when a call is pressed and there will also be a tone to alert staff that may not see the light that there is a patient in need.
  • Overdoors - Overdoors will be installed outside of rooms either into walls or into the ceiling tiles. The overdoors will light up when a call is pressed inside the room, this will then be visible to staff to show there is a patient in need of assistance in that room
  • Reset Emergency Plate - In all rooms where there is a pull cord for example, you will find a reset emergency plate. This plate gives the option to reset the call that has been put on by the patient when help has been given. There will also be an emergency function on the plate for the patient of memeber of staff to pull in the event of a more serious emergency.
  • LCD Indicator - These tend to be located on nurse bases in hospitals. Whenever a call is pressed inside a bedroom or toilet, the call will then show on the LCD screen with a room reference of where the patient is who requires assistance. The LCD will also have a tone function therefore staff will hear as well as see that there is a call going off.

There are various other options that can be taken out when looking for a new nurse call system such as a cardiac alert button used in the event of a patient going into cardiac arrest, these are usually accompanied by a blue flashing overdoor lamp, we can also install things such as fall mats, these will send signals to the staff in the event of a patient falling out of bed. Everything has been thought of by Static Systems therefore anything can be linked to the nurse call system that you can think of to do with patient safety!
